Two people killed after truck flip, strikes tree Spring Valley Township

The Ohio Highway Patrol said three generations were in the pickup truck. The driver, 49 -year-old Carl Perry Junior died at the scene. His mother-in-law, 73- year-old Linda Davis, died at the hospital. His young granddaughter is the only survivor.
"We have had somewhat of a rise in traffic fatalities in Greene County this year.," said Ohio Highway Patrol Sergeant Richard Milstead.
A child in a car seat in the back seat was taken to the hospital with non life threatening g injuries.
"We're not ruling out Speed to be a factor for the roadway conditions," said Milstead.
The vehicle was traveling on Route 380 northbound when it went off the side of the road, went down an embankment and hit a sign, crashed through the fence and then hit the tree. It was snowing at the time of the accident.
"It's tragic no matter what time of year it is but it is amplified because of the holidays but it is tragic none the less," said Milstead.
His reminder to drive especially in snowy conditions.
"Just slow down. Be careful, get to where you need to get to safe," said Milstead
Greene County has 15 fatal crashes this year compared to 10 last year.
Investigators say the deceased were not wearing seat belts but weren't ejected.
The child in the accident was taken to Dayton Children's Hospital with non life threatening injuries. Xenia police picked up her mom and drove her to the hospital to be with the child.
SPRING VALLEY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) -- Authorities are investigating tonight after a two people died in a crash. It happened Saturday (Dec. 9) evening around 5:00 on State Route 380.
Investigators tell Fox 45, a man and a woman were killed. They were the driver (man) and the front seat passenger (woman) both are from Xenia. There was also a child in a car seat in the back who was taken to Dayton Children's Hospital for observation. We're told the child's injuries are non-life threatening.
At this point in the investigation, authorities say, the driver lost control of the truck and went off the road. He drove into an embankment, through a fence, then into a tree.
Speed is being investigated as a possible factor.
It's unclear if road conditions played a role but it was snowing at the time of the crash.
