Parents tell police baby buried in Riverside backyard was stillborn
RIVERSIDE, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Riverside Police say no charges have been filed but an investigation into the death of a newborn baby found buried in a backyard continues.
In an update with police Tuesday afternoon, police say officers with Kettering were called on Sunday afternoon, February 11, saying there was possibly a newborn baby buried in the backyard of a Riverside home.
When police responded to the home on Richland Aveue, detectives talked with the baby's parents who told them a baby had been stillborn on December 21, 2017. The baby was then buried in the backyard, but police were never notified of the birth.
Ohio Bureau of Investigation assisted Riverside Police with the investigation. The baby girl's body was taken to the Montgomery County Coroner's Office where a full autopsy was conducted on Monday, February 12. The results of the autopsy are still pending.
