Coroner, deputies investigate fatal crash in Greenville
GREENVILLE, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - One person has died after a two-car crash overnight in Greenville.
According to a release from the Darke County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened at the intersection of U.S. Route 127 and Hogpath Road just after 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 2.
Deputies say a Ford Taurus was heading west on Hogpath Road when it failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of U.S. Route 127.
A Chevy Silverado then struck the Taurus on its passenger side, which caused both vehicles to slide off the side of the road.
The Silverado flipped onto its driver's side and the Taurus struck a utility pole and a group of trees.
Deputies say the driver of the Taurus was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Silverado sustained minor injuries, but refused treatment.
The identity of the driver of the Taurus has not yet been released.
The crash remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office and the Darke County Coroner's Office.
