6-year-old Ohio girl's wheelchair stolen off her front porch
CINCINNATI, Ohio - An Ohio mother is pleading with the person who stole her 6-year-old daughter's wheelchair to return it. "It's very hurtful and it hurts for her to not go to school because she loves school," Casey Hamilton said.
Her daughter, Austyn Bloebaum suffers from spina bifida and she can only get around by using her wheelchair. The chair was put outside last Thursday morning, WCPO reports, and as the children waited for the school bus, it was stolen.
The chair is custom-made and costs $8,500, "I'm not sure what you thought you were going to get out of it, but you took her legs and her ability to function outside the house away from her and that's not fair," Austyn's mother said.
The family's now hoping someone comes forward with information to get her daughter's life back. In the meantime, Casey Hamilton has a message for the thief, "If you stole it, like, I've been praying for you because that's really really low like clearly you need some help."
