Northmont's Jacobs commits to Iowa

CLAYTON -- Northmont rising senior Jestin Jacobs committed to play football at Iowa on Friday.

Jacobs made the announcement on twitter.

Jacobs has played a number of roles for the Thunderbolts lining up as a defensive back and closer to the line of scrimmage as a linebacker.

He will be an outside linebacker at Iowa.

As a junior Jacobs was third on the team with 74 tackles and his 3.5 sacks were second only to Michigan commit Gabe Newburg.

Jacobs forced three fumbles and also recovered three fumbles while grabbing one interception for the Bolts.

He picked Iowa over offers from Michigan State, Northwestern, Minnesota, Purdue, Iowa State, and Indiana among others.
