Xeyrius Williams transferring from UD


DAYTON – University of Dayton men's basketball coach Anthony Grant has announced that junior forward Xeyrius Williams received a release from his scholarship with the intention to transfer.

Williams, a 6-foot-9 player from Springfield, Ohio who played his high school ball at Wayne, played in 76 games over his three seasons at Dayton.

As a freshman he averaged 2.1 points and 1.7 rebounds a game. As a sophomore, he averaged 8.2 points and 4.8 rebounds, while shooting .484 (93-192) from the field and .415 (39-94) from three-point range. This season, he averaged 5.0 and 3.1, while shooting .347 (33-95) and .274 (17-62) while playing in 18 games.
