UD women earn at-large bid to NCAA Tournament
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The University of Dayton women's basketball team was selected to compete in the 2018 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament with an at-large bid.
Dayton will enter as the No. 9 seed and play the No. 8 seed Marquette on Friday, March 16 at 2:30 p.m. in the Yum! Center in the first round of the big dance.
This will be the eighth time in the past nine seasons that the Flyers are going to the NCAA Tournament and the second straight trip to Louisville for the event.
UD is coming off a 23-6 season, a regular season Atlantic 10 Championship, and a 15-game winning streak during conference play.
Marquette finished the year with a 23-9 record overall and went 15-3 in Big East games. The Golden Eagles advanced to the Big East title game before falling to DePaul, but did win the regular season title, similar to the Flyers. This is Marquette's 11th NCAA tournament appearance.
