North All-Stars eye one last chance to shine at the MVCFA All-Star Game
CLAYTON, Ohio (WRGT/WKEF) -- This Friday is the Miami Valley Football Coaches Association All-Star Game, and the North side is getting ready for the South.
They are coached by Northmont front man Tony Broering. He is excited to have Trotwood's Markell Stephens-Peppers under center. The QB finished the year ranked 6th in the GWOC in passing yards. Next season he is heading to Malone University, and will be joined there by fellow North All-Star wide receiver Hayden Schrubb from Piqua. At 6’3, Schrubb is a massive target for Stephens-Peppers. He finished the year with the most receiving touchdowns in the GWOC, and second in yards.
This week the tandem is working to mesh with their teammates.
"I already played with half of the team against them during the four years I played, so it's been fun getting to actually meet them for the first time, and being able to be on the same team as some All-Stars," Stephens-Peppers said.
"That is part of the challenge, getting people on the same page,” Broering said, “The lingo can sometimes be a little different than what different coaches use, but the unique aspect of it is it's great you get to work with those guys."
