FAIRBORN, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - After nearly two years of bargaining, members of a union representing some Wright State University faculty may be on strike beginning January 22.
However, there is a grassroots effort by some professors in the union to try and avoid the strike. A group has organized a petition for a vote of no confidence in the university's Board of Trustees. The movement is not led by the union.
The 'No Confidence Petition' lists a number of reasons why the university faculty has reportedly lost confidence in the board. Faculty said the necessary number of signatures has been gathered and verified to be presented to administrators.
The Board of Trustees will now have a chance to respond to the concerns expressed in the petition. If a strike does happen on Tuesday, then the petition will be stalled.
