Two in custody, one hospitalized after altercation outside of a Cleveland suburb mall
Cuyahoga Co., Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Two are in custody and one victim was hospitalized after shots were fired outside Beachwood Place Mall on Saturday afternoon.
Beachwood Police said that a suspect shot a man in the leg during during an altercation outside the mall around 3 p.m.
Beachwood Police Chief Gary Haba said the two apeared to know each other, but the cause of the altercation is unknown.
Both are now in custody, and police say cash and a handgun were recovered after the shooting.
Police say a 17-year-old girl was also taken to the hospital after a report of shots fired near the entrance of the mall, but no more information was given.
Reports say some shoppers locked themselves inside stores and others ran to the exits when the mall locked down.
The mall was still on lockdown nearly three hours after the shooting, and remained closed through the night.
In a Facebook post, Beachwood Mall said they would be reopening at its normal hours on Sunday.
