TROTWOOD, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Trotwood residents, police and firefighters rallied together on New Year's Day to pray for the future of the Salem Mall Site.
Officials in the city have designated the site as the strategic initiative for 2019 and will be spending time to make sure the site is developed.
Mayor Mary McDonald said they're looking to make the site mixed-use and to bring living wage jobs to the area.
The city would be willing to sell the site to another developer, or work with anyone looking to develop the 52 acres of land.
McDonald said they chose to have a prayer rally to invoke God's care and concern at the site because they're a strong community of faith, and they believe that by putting Him at the forefront of the situation, He will help with it.
