Springfield woman accused of stabbing elderly uncle multiple times, robbing him

UPDATE: Isaac was indicted July 2 on counts of attempted murder, aggravated robbery and tampering with evidence.


SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Police have arrested a Springfield woman after they say she stabbed her elderly uncle multiple times while he was sleeping.

The victim said he was in his chair when he woke up to pain in his chest, he says when he opened his eyes, his niece, Rebecca Isaac, 36, was stabbing him with a knife. According to a police report, the victim said he asked his niece, "Becky, do you know what you're doing?" He said she replied, "I'm going to kill you if I don't get the money." The victim told police his niece continued to stab him and forced him to take $300.00 out of a safe, then left the home.

The 79-year-old victim then called 911 for help. Medics showed up and took him to the hospital, he was later taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital. Police say the victim was stabbed in his chest, hand, bicep and leg. Detectives say they found a six-inch kitchen knife with blood on it inside the victim's home.

Rebecca Isaac has since been arrested on charges of Attempted Murder and Aggravated Robbery. She's being held in custody at the Clark County Jail.
