TIPP CITY -- Montgomery County Sheriff Phil Plummer and Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones endorsed BIll Beagle for Ohio's 8th Congressional District, after John Boehner announced his resignation in October 2015.

The announcement was made in a press release Sunday night.

"As the Montgomery County Sheriff, I have worked closely with our State Senator, Bill Beagle, over the past 5 1/2 years and know that he will serve the people of the 8th Congressional District exceptionally well in Washington," said Sheriff Plummer. "Bill Beagle will be the conservative leader our country needs to defend our national security and keep our communities safe."

BIll Beagle is a Republican.

The special election is scheduled for March 15th.
