Man trapped in SUV after hit-and-run crash in Dayton, suspect at large
DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Dayton Police are asking for information after a driver smashed into a car this morning, trapping a person inside, and then left the scene.
The crash happened shortly after 8:15 Wednesday on W. Stewart Street and Clement Avenue. Police say the suspect was driving a silver GMC SUV and ran a stop sign, crashing into the driver's side of the victim's car.
The male driver who was hit had to be extricated from the car by firefighters. Crews had to cut off the entire driver's side of the vehicle. Police say witnesses were able to give them a good description of the suspect's vehicle, but they're hoping others will come forward to help them track down the driver.
The victim was taken to Miami Valley Hospital where police say he's in stable condition.
