DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - A Huber Heights man was sentenced to 2 years in prison Wednesday in connection with a police standoff from May.

Officers were in a standoff with Bruce Cameron, 47, before he was arrested May 12. They first responded to the scene on reports that he had held a woman to gunpoint while her child were present in the home, but were ultimately able to take him in to custody without incident.

Cameron was found guilty of one count of abduction, which is a third-degree felony.

"This defendant told the victim that he would shoot the police if they showed up at the residence," Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck, Jr., said. "Thankfully, the hostage negotiation team was able to end the situation without anyone being injured."
