Multiple counties issue snow advisories
Multiple counties are under a snow emergency in the Miami Valley, Here is a complete list:
Champaign County - Level 1
Clark County - Level 1
Clinton County - Level 2
Darke County - Level 1
Greene County - Level 2
Logan County - Level 1
Preble County - Level 1
Level 1 means roads are dangerous and covered with drifting snow and ice.
Level 2 means you are only allowed on the roads if you have to be. Contact your employer to make sure you have to go in.
UPDATE: Clark County also issued a Level 1 snow advisory around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday. In the message, the Sheriff's Office said roads are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow, and they are icy. Caution should be used while driving.
Logan County issued their Level 1 advisory around 4:40 p.m. Montgomery County issued a Level 1 emergency around 5:45 p.m., and the Greene County Sheriff's Office upgraded their emergency to Level 2 around 11 p.m.
DARKE COUNTY, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Darke County has declared a Level 1 snow advisory as snow falls in the northern part of the Miami Valley.
Sheriff Toby Spencer said while travel isn't being limited at this time, drivers should be cautious because the roads are hazardous. Icy conditions began in Darke County earlier in the morning on Friday, and by 2:30 snow had started falling.
The storm has prompted dozens of schools and organizations to either cancel or close early.
