Body found by mowing crew removed from Springfield park (WKEF/WRGT)

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - A body has been removed from a park in Springfield after it was found by a crew mowing the grass.

The scene is around the entrance to Virgil A. Mabra Park, just off of Oakleaf Avenue. Springfield Police are on the scene and have the area taped off with crime scene tape. Police have only told FOX45 it is responding to a "critical incident." It's unclear right now what the circumstances are surrounding this investigation. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation tells FOX45 it is assisting Springfield Police in "processing a crime scene."

The Clark County Coroner has identified the victim as 34-year-old Cedric Lamar Holt Jr. An autopsy is set to be performed on Wednesday. He is the father of one of the teens who was found tied up in a Huber Heights home earlier in the day.

A man who works for park district in Springfield called 911. The man told the dispatcher he and his co-worker were mowing the grass when they found a black car sitting in the park. The man said the car was "tucked back" by a walking trail and all of the doors were open, "Someone's in there," he told the dispatcher, "my partner said he or she is laying there, we don't know if he or she is chilling or smoking."

The worker said his partner found the car and took off quickly when he saw it and the person inside, "I think he was kind of freaked out and left," the man told the dispatcher.

FOX45 has a crew on the scene and is working to learn more information. This story will be updated.
