Body of 13-year-old boy recovered from Stillwater River

UPDATE: The Montgomery County Coroner's Office has identified the 13-year-old boy who drowned in the Stillwater River as De'Angelo Casey.

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) -- Crews have recovered the body of a 13-year-old boy from the Stillwater River near the Ridge Avenue bridge.

The Dayton Fire Department responded to a call around 5:30 p.m. Sunday of a person in the water.

Dayton Fire launched two boats, but could not locate the boy. A third boat was called to assist with the search, but they were still unable to find the boy.

A dive team from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base was then called in and discovered the body around 7:30 p.m.

The boy is believed to be from Dayton. Fire crews are ruling the drowning an accidental death, but the corner will perform an autopsy to determine a cause of death.
