Black smoke visible for miles after 6 vehicles catch fire in scrap yard in Dayton
DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Six vehicles caught fire in a scrap yard in Dayton Monday afternoon, and the smoke was visible for miles around the city.
District Chief Adam Landis said that people in the area reported hearing explosions in connection with the fire, and that probably had something to do with the tires.
There was a little bit of a delay when it came to battling the fire because one of the fire hydrants wasn't giving them the pressure they needed, but they went to the next hydrant and were able to keep working.
People were working at the business at the time of the fire, but no one was injured in connection with the incident.
Investigators are on scene working to figure out what caused the fire to spark.
