Anthony Muñoz Foundation impacting youth in the Miami Valley
MIAMISBURG, Ohio (WRGT/WKEF)- A former Cincinnati Bengals player is impacting the young Hispanic youth in the Miami Valley.
The Anthony Muñoz Foundation hosted it 9th Annual Hispanic Character Camp for 150 young men at Camp Chautauqua on Sunday.
Anthony Muñoz said the camp teaches the young men that they are not defined by their circumstance.
“Our camp’s mission is to build men of character. I have immense pride in my heritage and I want these young men to feel that pride and be a role for their peers and in their communities.” said Muñoz.
The camp’s focus is to build character through experience, mentorship and encouragement for boys in 5th through 8th grade.
“You remember those individuals that poured into your life when you had a dream and a goal to try to accomplish as a kid.” said Muñoz.
The 3-day football camp is free and by invitation only. Muñoz said he just strives to impact kids in the same way others have done for him.
“After playing 13 years for the Bengals, it was a good way to put together a team and hopefully have an impact on young people the way people had impacted on my life.” Muñoz
