    CENTERVILLE, Ohio (WRGT/WKEF)- Alzheimer's disease affects over 30,000 people in the Miami Valley. Saturday morning the Miami Valley Alzheimer's Associated hosted a workshop for families so they could learn how to cope with the disease.

    The Alzheimer's Associated provided two workshops that focused on education and offered tips for families and those with Alzheimer's or dementia for Dementia Education Day.

    The association held two education classes to cover topics like detection, causes and risk factors. Tips were also given on how to have a successful conversation with your family member about Dementia.

    MIAMI VALLEY, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - More than 30,000 people living in the Miami Valley have Alzheimer’s Disease and over 90,000 are working as caregivers. “Alzheimer’s Disease is a growing public crisis, and the Association is working to fund research around the world that deals with prevention, new treatments, and finding a cure,” Miami Valley Alzheimer Association’s Director of Communications Edwina Clark said.
