Adelyn's Rainbow Run gives back to the Ronald McDonald House
TROY, Ohio (WRGT/WKEF)- The Adelyn Rainbow Run celebrates the memory of Adelyn Drake while giving back to those families and children treated at the Ronald McDonald House.
The 5th annual rainbow run was held Saturday morning to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House.
Adelyn Drake stayed at the Ronald McDonald House before she passed away in 2013 from a heart condition.
Adelyn’s parents Jim and Shellie Drake said that giving back to the foundation has helped with the healing process of losing their daughter.
“Today we have raised over 15,000 dollars just personally through that. So we’ve been able give a large chunk back to a foundation that has helped us in a time of need. It helps with the healing process.” said Jim
The donations from the rainbow run provides financial support for families in need with a sick child.
“It helps parents who might not be able to afford it, to be able to stay” said Shellie.
The Ronald McDonald is a home away from home for families with sick children. They provide the medical care to children while also being there as a support system for families.
