1 dead after nightclub incident, now some want Plush shut down
DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - A woman is dead after the car she was in was shot up outside Plush nightclub. Police said the altercation took place Thursday morning in Harrison Township.
The altercation ended with two people being shot at on Main and Siebenthaler in Dayton. One of them, 21-year-old Adriaunna Jackson, died.
Dayton Police Department Sergeant Jeffery Spires said the shooting stems from a dispute that people had at the Harrison Township strip club.
"This is some sort of argument that spilled over from club Plush and ended up in a shooting," said Spires.
Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Captain Jeremy Roy said the club has been a concern for a while.
"Club Plush is an ongoing concern with Harrison Township and now it's trickling over in other jurisdiction, city of Dayton, " said Roy.
Plush Gentlemen’s Club is a strip club with a hip hop crowd. Captain Roy said since the first of the year, deputies have been there 80 times for different incidents.
"Shots fired, large disorderly crowds, large fights and we've been out there on a homicide," said Roy.
The state has administratively, not criminally charged them a couple of times for drug use and disorderly activity. Now some residents are calling for that club to be shut down.
"I've heard so many rumors about it, it needs to be shut down," said a neighbor who didn't want to be identified.
The captain said for years Harrison Township has tried to get the liquor license revoked from Plush but so far, they have had no luck.
"Now we're also reaching out to Dayton asking them to join us in a unified front to go up to Columbus and say 'hey we're done with this bar, it needs to be shut down, it needs to be shut down now," said Roy.
Plush had a liquor license hearing scheduled last month but asked for a continuance. The hearing will be next month. FOX 45 has called the club and left a message for the owner. We're waiting on a call back to get his response.
