Slick and icy travels are in store Friday evening. Since it will remain below freezing all day... a thaw is out of the question. Snow will continue to accumulate all day today before finally tapering off through the late evening. The heaviest snow will arrive this afternoon and will continue into the early evening.
Most of us can expect up to 4-8" of snow by days end with some areas seeing 8"+. Areas in the Advisory (Mercer and Auglaize Co.) can expect 2-5".
As temps dip into the teens overnight be VERY careful on the roads because salt isn't as effect below 20 degrees. Highs will climb back into the 20s on Saturday but wind chills will be in the single digits at times.
Sunday into Monday we will have highs close to freezing and another system could bring us more sleet and snow. By Tuesday we will have our coldest day of the season with some of us struggling to get out of the teens. The cold snap continues through Thursday with single digit lows Tuesday through Thursday.
