UPDATE: Dayton Police Investigate Gas Station, Restaurant Robberies
DAYTON -- Police say robbers this morning stole a combined $1,325 from two businesses.
Dayton Police are investigating after a single suspect entered the Sunoco on Brown Street and demanded cash. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a white bandana across his face. He also was wearing gloves. He got away with $125
Within minutes, police say two men ran inside a nearby Burger King, pulled a gun on an employee who was taking out the trash and forced that person into the office while another employee was told to get money from a safe. Those suspects got away with $1,200.
Police say a man matching the description of the Sunoco robbery suspect was spotting in Kettering and police also say they spotted the vehicle used in the Burger King robbery nearby. There has been word word, however, whether anyone has been arrested.
Dayton Police Investigating String of Robberies
DAYTON -- Police are investigating a string of robberies, including the latest at a Burger King restaurant on Brown Street.
According to Dayton Police, two masked men flashed a gun at the manager and said to open the safe. After they cleared it out, they fled the area.
The suspects are believed to have been driving a silver Chrysler.
As ABC 22/FOX 45 Reporter Amber Watson was reporting from Burger King, officers were seen quickly leaving in their cruisers. About the same time, a report on the police scanner indicated the suspects' vehicle was spotted nearby. This information has not be confirmed by police.
Police say they also are investigating an earlier robbery at a nearby Sunoco. A man walked into the business wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a black bandana. He demanded cash from the clerk and fled. Police aren't saying whether he had a weapon or what vehicle he might have used.
Police say the descriptions of the suspects in the Burger King and Sunoco robberies do not match, so officers say the robberies don't appear to be related.
If you have information about these incidents or see the suspects, Dayton police ask you to call 937-333-2677 (COPS).
