UPDATE: Father Accused of Stabbing Disabled Son, Wife
DAYTON -- A Dayton man is accused of stabbing his disabled stepson and wife Wednesday morning, before crashing a van into a Trotwood gas station.
A Dayton Police incident report says the suspect 48-year-old Stanley Wheatley was found inside the van that crashed at the Shell Gas Station on Salem Avenue. He suffered serious injuries and was transported to Miami Valley Hospital where an officer stood guard with him.
The report sheds some light as to what may have happened inside 1219 Superior Avenue.
When officers arrived on scene they found the victim, Sherrel Wheatley, at a neighbors house covered in blood. The report indicates she had several large cuts to her face, throat and hands.
Wheatley told investigators she was sleeping when her husband woke her up and demanded money for drugs but she told him she had none and she needed what she has for bills.
She went on to say that's when her husband grabbed a knife and started cutting her.
The incident report says officers found her son Antwand Warren who is paralyzed laying on the ground with a stab wound to his neck.
Warren told officers his step father pulled him out of bed asking for money.
Investigators found a large knife in front of the home and blood all over the inside of the house.
At last check, the son was in surgery at the hospital. The wife is expected to be okay.

Two Injured in Dayton Stabbing; Suspect Found in Trotwood
DAYTON -- A stabbing is under investigation in Dayton.
Police were called to the 1200-block of Superior Avenue just before 4:00 Wednesday morning.
Two people were taken by medics, one man has a stab wound to his neck.
Police blocked off part of Superior while they continue the investigation.
Police are now saying the mother and son were stabbed by the father in a family dispute; he then fled the scene.
The suspect was found in Trotwood just after 4:00 Wednesday morning after crashing into a gas pump.
It happened at the Shell Gas Station at Salem Avenue and Shiloh Springs Avenue.
The driver was unresponsive when crews arrived on scene. When the van crashed, the gas pump caught fire. The driver then continued down the road before hitting another vehicle.
The driver is now in the hospital for his injuries.
Police say the suspect may have been intoxicated or already unconscious before the accident.
The gas station was not open yet and the car he hit was of a worker coming to open the location.
We have not confirmed any charges yet on the suspect. Shiloh Springs Road is closed.
