UPDATE: Missing Nolan and Mother Found Safe
MONROE -- Missing 2-year-old Nolan Myers and his mother, Melissa, have been found safe at a hotel in Monroe.
John Davis, the public information officer with the Centerville Police Department, says someone called police to say they spotted Myers' car parked in a Best Western hotel parking lot.
Davis says mom and son are both safe. It was the best possible outcome for a situation like this. Melissa Myers is cooperating with police. He said it's too early in their investigation to determine whether any charges would be filed. He said they need to find out more about what led up to her actions before determining how police will respond.
Davis said the AMBER Alert worked perfectly, with word getting out about the possibly endangered child.
AMBER ALERT -- An amber alert has been issued in three states to help locate a missing mother and son.
Centerville Police say the child was with his mother Melissa, who was reportedly making threats to hurt the child and herself.
Police say she took off from a Centerville home just after 7:30 Wednesday night.
The amber alert bulletins are posted throughout Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Police say they have received a few tips at the police station about Melissa and Nolan.
Nolan Myers, 2-years-old, was last seen wearing a blue onesie. Nolan's mother Melissa Myers was last seen wearing a white tank top and pink running shorts.
Police tell us Melissa was very upset when she left her house and made several threats to hurt herself and Nolan.
The last time officers were able to talk to Melissa over the phone and she told them that she did not want them to keep harassing her. She then turned off her phone. Police say the last contact they had with Myers was a cell phone ping just before 9:00 Wednesday night in Warren County.
Police tell us Melissa is driving a 2013 lime green Ford Fiesta, with the license plate numbers FWJ-2295.
Right now, officers are not sure where Melissa is headed. They are talking to family and friends to see where she might go.
At this point, they say they are not focused on any charges they just want her to come home. If you see Melissa and/or Nolan you are asked to call 911 right away.
