UPDATE: Suspect Identified in Bethel Township Assault
BETHEL TOWNSHIP -- Police are looking for a Dayton man with a long criminal and violent history suspected of severely beating a woman Thursday evening in her home.
Clark County Sheriff Gene Kelly says they are looking for Wesley J. Tigner, 33, of 618 Hickory Hill Dr., Dayton. He's facing felonious assault and aggravated burglary charges after a woman on Gerlaugh Road was beaten so bloody deputies say the scene looked like a homicide when they arrived on scene.
The woman reportedly was assaulted with a metal cane, a metal broom handle and the vacuum cleaner hose. She sustained injuries to her head, leg and arm.
Kelly said the woman had to crawl out of the house to get her cell phone and call 911.
She was transported to Miami Valley Hospital and is currently in serious condition.
"It was determined through an investigation that the suspect forced entry into the victim's home and beat the victim with objects over a period of time, causing an extensive crime scene," deputies say.
According to Kelly, Tigner has an extensive criminal history and he should be considered armed and dangerous.
The sheriff says this was not a random act; the woman reportedly knew the victim before the assault.
Tigner has been arrested 53 times in Montgomery County and he has an extensive history with weapons and violence, Kelly said.
If you know the whereabouts of Tigner, you're asked to call the Clark County Sheriff's Office at 937-328-2560 or your local police department.
