Huber Heights police say just before 7pm Friday a neighbor called 911 saying she heard a gunshot. The witness also told dispatchers she saw a man with a gun running away and a woman lying in a yard on Cree Avenue.
When police arrived, they found a man in a silver car speeding off. That started a high speed chase down Rip Rap Road, ending when the suspect hit another car and then crashed into a tree. Police say the driver ran away from the accident and into the nearby bar Jackass Flats. Inside, there was a struggle and officers had to Taser the suspect in order to get him into handcuffs.
When you heard your neighbor was possibly shot to death what did you think, we asked Ron Schaaf, who lives nearby, ''It's a quiet neighborhood. I didn't expect anything like that.''
Police have not released the identity of the suspect or the victim, and it's unclear what relationship they may have had.
The suspect was taken to the hospital for minor injuries he sustained in the accident.
