Judge Sets $1.5 Million Bond for Fairfield Slaying Suspect
FAIRFIELD (AP) -- A southwest Ohio judge has set bond at $1.5 million for a Cincinnati man police had searched for after his former girlfriend was shot to death.
Fairfield Municipal Court Judge Joyce Campbell on Tuesday set a preliminary hearing Nov. 14 for 28-year-old Nicholas Delaney.
Police in the north Cincinnati suburb charged Delaney with murder after the early morning Oct. 31 shooting of 24-year-old Samantha Decker at her home.
A message was left Tuesday for Delaney's attorney, David Washington of Hamilton.
Delaney went to the police department the afternoon of Nov. 1 with his attorney and surrendered. Fairfield police had reported earlier that Delaney's yellow Ford Mustang was spotted in Cincinnati and was towed to Fairfield for evidence processing.
OCTOBER 31: Man Sought in Ex-Girlfriend's Death Surrenders
FAIRFIELD (AP) -- Authorities in southwest Ohio say a man sought after his former girlfriend was shot to death has turned himself in.
Police in the north Cincinnati suburb of Fairfield say 28-year-old Nicholas Delaney came to the police department Friday afternoon accompanied by an attorney. Fairfield police spokesman Doug Day says he will be booked into jail on a murder warrant.
Fairfield police had said earlier that Delaney's yellow Ford Mustang had been spotted in Cincinnati and was towed to Fairfield for evidence processing.
Police say 24-year-old Samantha Decker died at her home from multiple gunshot wounds early Thursday. They received a call of gunshots at an apartment complex just before 3 a.m.
Police say Delaney has a court appearance scheduled Tuesday. A message was left Friday for his attorney.
Police Say Wanted Man's Car Found in Cincinnati
FAIRFIELD (AP) -- Authorities in southwest Ohio say they have found the car of a man sought as a homicide suspect after his former girlfriend was shot to death in her home.
Police in the north Cincinnati suburb of Fairfield say the yellow Ford Mustang was found Thursday in Cincinnati after police there received a tip. Police say after surveillance of it didn't bring any results, it has been towed back to Fairfield to be processed for evidence.
Fairfield police spokesman Doug Day said Friday morning that police still haven't located 28-year-old Nicholas Delaney. Day says he should be considered armed and dangerous.

OCT. 31: Police Asking for Help Locating Suspect in Woman's Shooting Death
FAIRFIELD -- Police are investigating the Thursday morning shooting death of 24-year-old Samantha Decker.
Fairfield Police responded to 10 Wildwood Drive on a report of a shooting. The suspect of the shooting has been identified by police as 28-year-old Nicholas Delaney, Decker's ex-boyfriend.
Local 12 in Cincinnati reports that a man Decker was with told 911 that the pair returned to her home to find Delaney waiting for them. The other man was not injured.
Delaney and Decker had a child together.
The child was at Decker's parents home, in the same condo complex. Police say they have not had any previous calls to Decker's home.
Police consider Delaney armed and dangerous. He reportedly drives a bright yellow 1996 two-door Ford Mustang with Ohio license plate EUN-7699.
Police are asking for help locating Delaney. Call the Fairfield Police Department at (513) 829-8201 with any information about his whereabouts or details about the incident.
The Butler County Coroner is expected to conduct an autopsy on Decker Friday morning.
