SWAT Called Out to Home on Northdale in Dayton
DAYTON-- A stand-off in Dayton is now over after a man and woman were barricaded inside a house for nearly 7 hours.
It all started around 8:00 Wednesday night on the 1600 block of Northdale Road.
Police say it took a lot of negotiation, while officers blocked off this street and talked to the man inside this house with a loud speaker.
Just before 2:00 Thursday morning the man finally decided to come out of his house. He was ordered to keep his hands up as he walked backwards towards officers. He was then handcuffed and seconds later a woman inside the house also came out.
Police say this all started when some family members inside the house got into an argument. With the man threatening to shoot himself or someone else. He then refused to leave the house.
Police at first thought the woman inside was a hostage, but not they believe she may have stayed in the house voluntarily.
There were definatly tense moments in this neighborhood when this first happened. A neighbor who lives just a few houses down said a family left their home voluntarily, and other neighbors were told to stay away from their windows. The UDF behind the house was also temporarily closed.
We are told the 27-year-old man who barricaded himself inside the house lives here with his father. That man is now in custody. And his friend, who was in the house is also in custody.
Police tell us they found two guns inside the house, and that man could now face a felony charge.
