Beavercreek Car Wash Fundraiser to Help Big Brothers Big Sisters
BEAVERCREEK -- Mikes Carwash will partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters on Saturday, Aug. 17, to raise money and awareness for youth mentoring programs in Indiana and Ohio, donating half the proceeds of all Works washes that day.
Local agencies in both states will benefit from the Mikes Mentors Kids fundraiser, now in its fourth year. During the one-day event, half the proceeds of every Works wash, a $15 value, will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters. Last year, Mikes donated a total of $92,000 to eight BBBS chapters.
The event will be held from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 40 participating Mikes Carwash locations, including in Beavercreek at 2389 N. Fairfield Road.
All funds raised on the Aug. 17 will help offset the cost of programming for youth mentoring in the communities where the fundraisers are held. In the Dayton Area, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Miami Valley is partnering with Mikes at 2389 N. Fairfield Road in Beavercreek.
Were very grateful to our customers who help us support the mission of bringing positive change to children facing adversity, said Mikes CEO Bill Dahm. We know one-to-one mentoring works, although the demand has never been greater. In addition to raising money for an outstanding organization, were also hoping to help get the word out that mentors are greatly needed.
Big Brothers Big Sisters partners with parents, guardians, volunteers, schools, donors, and others in the community to help youth in the program achieve:
Higher aspirations, greater confidence, and better relationships
Avoidance of risky behaviors
In the event of inclement weather, a rain date of August 24 has been set.
