Motorcyclists Ride For Blood Donation Awareness
PIQUA -- Riding for a good cause in the Northern Miami Valley. Now several years in the running, motorcyclists are helping spread the word about the importance of donating blood.
They prepped at the Gover Harley Davidson in Piqua. They rode through scenic back roads through several rural counties.
The Hero Ride Poker Run is a patriotic tribute to our military, emergency and public safety workers as well as blood donors.
It is all about honoring those who give to help others, and spreading awareness about the importance of giving blood.
"I give blood, it's a good idea, I think more people should do it," said Ben Bowman, a rider.
"Blood is needed every single day and we can't provide the blood needs to the hospitals we service without volunteer blood donors," said Judy Blankenship with the Community Blood Center of Clark Greene, and Champaign Counties. They organized the ride.
