Former Wright State standouts Murphy, Roman make minor league All-Star Games
DAYTON -- Former Wright State baseball standouts Sean Murphy and Mitch Roman were named to minor league All-Star Games Tuesday.
Murphy, a Centerville grad, was selected as a reserve catcher in the California League despite missing more than a month of the season with a a wrist injury.
The Stockton Ports' catcher has homered seven times in 34 games and has hit .279 this season and is also an elite defensive player.
Roman, a shorstop who has also played second base this season, is an injury replacement in the South Atlantic League All-Star Game.
Roman has hit .276 with seven doubles, one triple and a home run this season for the Kannapolis Intimidators.
