Sidney remains undefeated in a tight shoot-out with Tipp on TNL
SIDNEY, Ohio (WRGT/WKEF) -- Only three unbeatens remain in the Greater Western Ohio Conference (GWOC), Sidney, Centerville, and Trotwood. The Yellow Jackets find a way to stay perfect against Tippecanoe in a wild, back-and-forth game on FOX45’s Thursday Night Lights.
The pair combined for nearly 100 points, in a game that was decided in the final minutes. Tipp running back Cole Barhorst was the player of the game, ripping off long runs, and scoring on a kickoff, to keep his team in it. He scored touchdowns to tie the game at 35, and at 42. A long run by GWOC rushing leader Isaiah Bowser sealed the deal in the waning minutes, and spoiling Barhorst’s big night.
"We came back, and we did what we have to do, Isaiah had a clutch run obviously, but we just came and we did it,” Sidney quarterback Andre Gordon said after the game, “We dapped all our lineman up before the [winning] play, and that's what we do."
"It feels great to be 7-0, I’ve been dreaming about this since I was a little boy,” Bowser said, “I want to come out and make the playoffs, hopefully we can win the rest of our games and make the playoffs."
Sidney wins it 49-42. The Jackets will try to stay unbeaten when they face Troy at home on Friday the 13th.
