Centerville's pitcher steals the show in Division 1 section
CENTERVILLE, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – Centerville’s ace Joey Hecht carved up the opposing team in a Division I section that saw the Panthers facing off against the Wayne Warriors.
He struck out 2 batters cold in the first before leaning back on his team for some support.
In the bottom of the inning, Riley Poulton stepped up to the plate with a man on second and third, and smacked a dribbler that was enough to score Kenny Stahl, and put Poulton safe at first, flipping the scoreboard to 1-0 for Centerville.
From there, the game became the Hecht show, as he threw for 3 strikeouts in the top of the second, getting 5 K’s out of 6 possible outs between the two innings. He carried 49 K's through the regular season.
Centerville got the W in the game, moving on after a final score of 6-0.
