Cavs to rep Goodyear on uniforms next season
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WRGT) -- As the Cavaliers waited for their opponent for the Eastern Conference Finals, the team unveiled a change to their uniforms for next season. Cleveland will now represent Goodyear, donning the winged-foot logo on the front of their jerseys.
Last year the league made it official, allowing teams to have corporate sponsors on their uniforms. The Akron-based company becomes the latest sponsor to jump at the opportunity.
"They were looking at what is Cleveland, what is northeast Ohio, who is Akron, who is Canton?” Cavs General Manager David Griffin said, “They wanted to know what their market place really was, and so they looked for inspiration and the organizations and the companies that built this great city, and the very first one they looked at was Goodyear."
