Area colleges donate to Houston for Hurricane Harvey relief
DAYTON -- Area high schools and colleges are donating what they can in response to University of Houston head men's basketball coach Kelvin Sampson's tweet sent Monday afternoon.
Area colleges have stepped up in a big way with University of Dayton sending dozens of shirts to Houston. Sinclair Community College is donating shirts from men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball and softball with men's basketball parting with three pairs of shoes from last season that were not used.
Wright State University is coordinating with its athletic department to gather apparel that can be sent. The Raiders will have all sports, not just men's basketball contribute to the cause.
Other area schools like Cedarville University are aware of the tweet and working on what exactly they can do to support those in Houston.
