UPDATE: Standoff Suspect Faces Burglary, Assault Charges
XENIA -- Police have identified the suspect in the six-hour standoff, which ended peacefully Monday morning with the man's arrest.

Anthony J. Marlin, 37, of Xenia was arrested on suspicion of burglary and assault after police say he forced his way into his ex-girlfriend's home on Rockwell Drive. Police say the woman told them Marlin had a baseball bat with him.

Police said Marlin assaulted the ex-girlfriend, although they indicated the bat was not used in the assault. He had fled the scene before police arrived.

Xenia police found him at his house, and the Greene County Regional S.W.A.T. Hostage Negotiations Teams was called out.

Police said at least two weapons and ammunition were found inside the residence.

UPDATE: Standoff Suspect Upset Over Break Up, Police Say

XENIA -- Xenia police said a six-hour standoff ended perfectly, with the suspect of a domestic dispute call peacefully arrested.

Xenia Police Capt. David Pazynski said the suspect's ex-girlfriend had called police from her residence, where she said the man was upset over their break-up. Police found the man had left her home and returned to his house in the 400 block of Ridgebury Drive.

A SWAT team was called out, set up a perimeter and deployed an armored vehicle and a robot.

Pazynski said the suspect was believed to have weapons in the home and was "Army trained."

At some point during the standoff, the suspect called police.

"He called us and he said he wasn't going to give up and he wanted to end his life and he wanted to take his medication," Pazynski said.

Pazynski said he didn't know the details of the domestic dispute but he said Xenia Police have had dealings with the suspect before, on suspicion of domestic violence and other incidents.

"I'm not surprised, he's had mental problems before," Pazynski said. "I'm glad nobody was hurt there used to be kids there."

After six hours, Pazynski said police deployed gas into the home, which elicited a response from the suspect, so the SWAT team moved in and arrested him.

Pazynski said the standoff ended perfectly.

"We're happy with the way it ended," he said.

The suspect was taken by ambulance to the hospital to be evaluated.

ABC 22/FOX 45 will bring you the latest developments on this story as details emerge.
