Comment: After brutally raping and murdering someone, my sympathy for someone taking 15 min to die is gone. The victims of these crimes saw much, much worse. from Tipp City by Andrea
Comment: Do the crime pay the fine.Hopefully the suffering he did endure rightfully so, will be used to set an example. I'm sure he didn't care about consiquinces when he violated and killed a innocent woman and her unborn child, he deserved to suffer. from Union, Ohio by Kim
Comment: Why should he get special treatment? His victim had no choice. I think the death penatly should be carried out the same day as it is imposed, why should they get one more day ? The victim didn't . from Wapakoneta Ohio by Crissie
Comment: Once again the news seems to focus on the criminal and not the victim. I lived in the area when this murder happened and I remember it well. A senseless, tragic killing of a woman that was close to the delivery date of her unborn child. I will not write about the details of this terrible tragedy, but if you are interested they are detailed in the court proceedings, enough to say that ( as with any murder) she suffered. Joy Stewart was not given the chance to spend the previous day or evening saying goodbye to her family and friends. She was not able to write letters or speak her feelings about what was about to happen to her and her unborn child. She was not able to have family members close by to witness and support her in her last moments of life. I hope the news media is not suggesting that I should feel outrage that it took McGuire 15 minutes to die and that he made noises before his death, because I don't. I do however wonder if Mrs. Stewart was so lucky. from Cumberland MD by Retta
Comment: I think the drug combo is way too easy. They need to suffer like the victims did. Maybe that would lessen crimes! from Brookville, OH by Terry
Comment: IT SEEMS IT IS EXPENSIVE AND BARBARIC. USE THE GUILLOTINE INSTEAD. IT CUTS TO THE CHASE. from sunny, downtown Fairborn by the ol' Man

Comment: the person will have a little suffering just like the person that they harmed (although, im sure the victim suffered way more that that pos from Middletown, Ohio by Melissa
Comment: He showed no mercy to his victim so why does he deserve any? Also his wasn't so "developmentally handicapped" that he tried to blame his crime on his brother-in-law and then to try to delay his execution by becoming an organ donor. Sorry no sympathy here. from New Paris, Ohio by Kim
Comment: The way I see it, the 15 minutes it too him to meet his demise was 15 extra minutes of realizing that it was punishment due him for his horrific actions. from Leghigh Acres Florida by Sandie
Comment: who cares if its an hr and a half? do you think he cared when he was hurting someone? Be glad we do not have to pay to keep his low life butt alive for nothing anymore. I call it justice. from Wapakoneta by Darlene
Comment: Honestly I think a murderer should be put to death just as his victim was. from TIPP city ohio by Toni

Comment: They deserve no special treatment! from Columbus Ohio by Linda
Comment: Being the first time this combination was used, some issues were to be expected. I would not want anyone to suffer and I'm sure that the dosage will be dialed in with each further use. The only question I have is, how concerned about his victim was he when she was dying? from Ohio by Marc
Comment: He didn't ask his victims how they wanted to die. the bible says an eye for an eye. from Bradford, Ohio by Ellen
Comment: These people committed hideous crimes and made countless people suffer-not just the victims but their friends and families too. Why should they have a quick and easy end? from St Paris Ohio by Dee
Comment: Yes! Or bring back old sparky! from dayton by annie

Comment: Who cares how the convicts die. The main thing is the end result. I'm sure the victims were treated humanely and didn't feel any pain. A bullet would be only 50 cents, $6 if a 50 caliber is used, a good rope could be reused! I can't believe all of the media concern for the murderer! from Greenville, OH by Dave
Comment: Use away. We seemed to be more concerned about the rightfully convicted then the innocent victims. from Beavercreek OH by Joe
Comment: absolutely..does it really matter if they feel pain??did not there victims go through unthinkable pain as they were being murdered??i would be tickeled to death if they would bring back public hanging then some of these criminals would think twice before comitting these crimes from miamisburg by m
Comment: Let them choose between hanging, gas, drugs ,or electrocution.
Comment: Yes, These people show no mercy when they murder someone......an eye for an eye! from Dayton, OH by Sheila
Comment: Not humane, was it humane what he did to her and her child. Her familyand her new married family. It was to good for him. His kids see $ signs and I can't believe we'd waste our tax payers money on taking that to trail. He got less then he desired! from Greenville,Ohio by Peggy Clark
Comment: I guarantee you his victim did not have a peaceful painless death, why should he or anyone else being executed? from St. Paul MN by Lynn
Comment: Maybe the family should consider what his victim suffered before they whine about his treatment. from Sidney Ohio by Barb

Comment: McGuire was in la la land with the delaudid he was given. He was happy as a lark. The gasping was like sleep apnea. For his family to try to make money and political points against the death penalty is WRONG. The victims from EATON are the ones who suffered. McGuire's family needs to be mad at the company that refuses to sell the three part cocktail to be used for executions. The family needs to blame them. If McGuire suffered a little, too bad. We need more eye for and eye as the Bible says. from Clayton, OH by Fred
Comment: They give the pain med first. The prisoner is not aware of the pain. It's only cruel and unusual punishment for the observers. I do feel for them but come on people .... in this case, do you think the victim was shown any mercy? Probably not. from Conover, Ohio by Kestra

Comment: just castrate them and maybe it will stop happenning from dayton oh by marsha
Comment: No- I don't believe in the death penalty anyway. I am a conservative but I just don't believe in it! from Beavercreek Township, OH by Bertha
Comment: No. My first choice of death row execution is public and pay per view hanging. Why do you think it was always public before but not now? My 2nd choice for the death row inmate would be public and pay per view electrocution. It's simple. You don't need a medic to administer it and its painless and quick. (The fees for tickets and pay per view can be collected and channeled back into the prison system for that state). Come to think about it, should death row type scumbags be entitled to painless execution? Do they have that right? What rights did they honor of their victims? The judge and jury decides the verdict and sentence. A short waiting period should be in order. Not years and years of waiting at taxpayers expense. My opinion doesn't mean anything, just makes sense to me. from Miamisburg Ohio by Rick
Comment: how about a bullet to the head faster and cheaper
Comment: He deserved to die but not by a drug combo that made him gasp for air for 16 minutes....essentially. suffocating him. from Xenia ohio by Caren
Comment: I think they should do like they do in Germany, a bullet to the brain. A lot faster and a lot cheaper. from greenville, ohio45331 by shirley hixenbaugh
