8.69% YES

Comment: He didn`t in the first place. from pershing,In by carl

Comment: Pete was a great salesman for baseball for years, and it is time for baseball to forgive Pete. from Xenia, OH by Arch

Comment: He has been treated so unfair considering. Of all things...drugs are the worst.

Comment: There are many professional players (in all sports) that have done far worse things than Pete Rose. It's all because one person didn't like Pete Rose and he was in a position that could stop him from being in Hall of Fame. What a shame!!! Politics...when it should have been because of what he accomplished on the playing field. from New Paris, Ohio by Kim

Comment: One of the greatest ball players ever and he didn't use drugs! Put him in the hall of fame and ban the doperz!!! from piqua ohio by justin

Comment: i never thought that he did what he did was stupid and wrong but the lifetime ban was personal by the baseball commissioner. There are much worse crimes than betting.Pete Rose will always be my hero from dayton ohio by crystal

Comment: Absolutely Not! Drug addiction, fighting dogs,is a lot worse than what pete did. He believed in his team, so he bet! He didn't steal any money doing it! from Springfield, Ohio by Donna

Comment: He got screwed.... from Ft. Recovery, OH by Dennis

Comment: In all sports there have been greater wrongs than what Pete Rose did! It is a travesty to punish him. The fans are the ones who keep baseball going not the commisoner, ask them what they think. I say put him in the Hall of Fame immediately. from Greenville, Ohio by Theresa

Comment: C'mon now it isn't like he murdered someone. He bet on baseball. I am sure he isn't the only 1 who has but he got caught from Sharon, PA by Betty

Comment: Pete Rose did not deserves a lifetime ban. Just not right!!! He is one of the Greatest Baseball Heroes & always will be. from Dickson, TN by Linda

Comment: Pete has payed for his crimes. It is time to let him in the hall of fame. He deserves credit for what he did on the field. I want his ban lifted. from Sidney,Ohio by Sharon

Comment: Pete Rose did pick the wrong vice but never placed a beat to lose; only win. He continues to be one of the great baseball players and I would hope the commissioner would allow the people to vote to get our input into how baseball history should be written. from Fairborn/Oh by Jeff

Comment: No, unless there are other facts that the public was not told, he should be exonerated immediatly. Also all those who cheated with drugs their records should be wiped away. from Inverness, FL by Bud

Comment: I did at one time, but I don't now. I would rather, if I had to pick, someone bet on their team to win. Charlie Hustle was just that, he did it on his own. He did it out in the open, not in some locker room, behind closed doors, in secret. Pete's got a valid point, he picked the wrong vice! But I'm proud of him for not picking drugs, I think that's worse, but a long shot!!! from Beavercreek, OH by Celeste

Comment: He has a point. from dayton,oh i o by Kathy

Comment: I have always thought it was unfair, now I really think MLB needs to change this ban on Pete. from Ft Recovery OH by Irene

Comment: I have always thought that Pete deserves to be in the hall of fame, mostly for his accomplishments and on top of that, the very fact that many other types of illegal doings by others have gone overlooked. Pete has been overly punished and it is time to recognize his accomplishments positively from Tipp city, ohio by Tom Wenrick

Comment: Let him back in. What he done isnt near as bad as what has happened since and little to nothing was handed down to them. from Coldwater/Ohio by Rick

Comment: Pete belongs in the Hall of Fame. from Urbana Oh by Susan

Comment: Banned him what he did as a manager. Keep him from managing ever again. But he deserves to go in the Hall as a player. The Hall is not a real Hall of Fame without it Hit King! from Xenia,Ohio by Dennis

Comment: I never thought Pete should have been banned for life. He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame on his performance on the field as a player! from Kettering, Ohio by Karen

Comment: Pete wasn't juiced. His awards were earned by skill. Any player on performance enhancing drugs should be banned for life. They're nothing but cheaters who can't make it on their own ability. from sunny downtown Fairborn by the ol' Man

Comment: It is time to put this ban to bed. It was chicken feed compared to what is going on today. from So. Chas., Ohio by Dian

Comment: I say Pete Rose should have never received a lifetime ban. Unless, he was proven that he gambled against his own team or through off the game in opponents favor. Gambling can take one's good judgement just as alcohol or drugs can if a person becomes too indepted loan shark takes over your life. I don't believe that was the case with Pete Rose. from Dayton, OH by Bill

Comment: He has paid the price in more ways than one !!!!! from Moraine Oh by Marty

Comment: Absolutely no, look at what a lot of other popular people have done. Doping is more dangerous than gambling. Pete Rose has done his time with this. He was one of the best and needs to be in Baseball Hall of Fame!!! from Xenia, Ohio by Sandra

Comment: Pete should not have lifetime ban and should be in Hall of Fame, plain and simple. from West Carrollton, OH by Joan

Comment: Enough is enough. from Springfield,Ohio by Keith

Comment: His comments are sad but true. from Dayton/Ohio by Joe

Comment: What Pete Rose did as a manager should never have had ANY impact on what he did as a player. If you ban him from managing fine, but what he did as a player should be in the Hall of Fame. I think the "Acting" commissioner should not have that authority in the first place. A punishment that severe should not be in the hands of one man it should voted on by an oversight group so that one man's opinion doesn't affect another man's accomplishments. I have never been a baseball fan, but I am a sports fan and I think that Bud Selig is a TREMENDOUS HYPOCRITE with the way he hands out punishment for various "infractions" in baseball. I think the current scandals in baseball are FAR worse than anything Pete Rose ever did. from Troy, Ohio by Mike

Comment: I think Pete Rose has paid for his sins long enough. His not being able to qualify for the Hall of Fame because the baseball commissioner has a grudge against him teeters on just plain silliness. Pete Rose should be reinstated immediately so that he will be remembered what a fantastic baseball player he really was, and did not have to have drugs to do it either. from Fairborn, Ohio by Steven

Comment: Pete is "charlie hustle", he needs to be in the hall of fame now!!!!!!!!!! from Dayton, Ohio by Grant

Comment: Pete is "charlie hustle", he needs to be in the hall of fame now!!!!!!!!!! from Dayton, Ohio by Grant

Comment: Still one of the greatest players of all time, without drugs! from Beavercreek, OH by Julie

Comment: We have "record holders" who we know we're juicing, but they will still end up in the Hall of Fame. Pete admitted his mistakes, the "juicers" think they did no wrong. from Bellefontaine, OH by Valeri

Comment: NO--Absolutely not! Pete deserves to be recognized for his accomplishments. Everyone makes mistakes! Get rid of the ban! Pete is a legend in baseball. from Dayton, OH by Bobbie

Comment: What he did is nowhere near as bad as all these players doping. He definitely doesn't deserve to be punished more than they are. from Tipp City, Ohio by Rachel

Comment: A BIG FAT NO!!!!!!! from Dayton by Cathy
