    • Digestive Specialists has 5 convenient locations throughout Dayton and surrounding areas including 4 state of the art Endoscopy Centers. We realize that easy access is important and with Digestive Specialists, the patients do not have to travel far to get their medical care.
    • Digestive Specialists has weekend hours and late hours on weekdays in both Office and Endoscopy Center, for your convenience.
    • We can perform endoscopic procedures (colonoscopies and upper endoscopies) at about one/third the cost as compared to hospitals.
    • We have a state of the art IV infusion center to administer certain medications so patients do not have to travel to the hospitals.

  • David Novick, M.D., FACP

    David Novick, M.D., FACP

    Dr. Novick received his medical degree from Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY in 1974. After completing his Internal Medicine residency at Beth Israel Medical Center, New York, NY in 1977 he did a Fellowship in Liver Diseases at the Royal Free Hospital, London, England in 1984 and a Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Yale University/Norwalk Hospital, Norwalk, CT in 1991.

    Dr. Novick has been practicing in Kettering, OH since 1991 with special interest in Hepatology. He is a member of several GI societies including the American College of Physicians (ACP), American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (AASLD), American Liver Foundation, International Association for the Study of the Liver, American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), Montgomery County Medical Society (MCMS), Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA), American Medical Association (AMA) and the College on Problems of Drug Dependence (CPDD).

    Dr. Novick is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

  • Marios Pouagare, M.D., Ph.D.

    Marios Pouagare, M.D., Ph.D.

    Dr. Pouagare received his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 1984, and then went on to receive his medical degree (M.D.) from the University of Miami in 1988. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Texas, Southwestern in Dallas, Texas in 1991 and his gastroenterology training at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida in 1993.

    Dr. Pouagare has been practicing gastroenterology in Kettering, Ohio since 1993 with special interest in colon cancer prevention, esophageal disorders, and gastrointestinal motility disorders. He is a member of several medical societies, including The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), American Medical Association (AMA), Ohio State Medical Society (OSMA), and Montgomery County Medical Society (MCMS).

    Dr. Pouagare is Board Certified in Gastroenterology and is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Wright State University-Boonshoft School of Medicine.  He is the author of several publications.

    Teressa Patrick, M.D.

    Dr. Patrick received her medical degree from Ohio State University in Columbus, OH in 1983. After completing her Internal Medicine residency at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland and Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH she did a Gastroenterology fellowship at the SUNY at Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, NY.

    Dr. Patrick has been practicing in Dayton, OH since 1997 with special interest in GI. She is a member of several GI societies including American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA) and Montgomery County Medical Society (MCMS).

    Dr. Patrick is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

    Dr. Peddanna received his medical degree from Government Medical College, Bellary, India in 1984. After completing his Internal Medicine residency at Long Island College Hospital, Brooklyn, NY, he did a Gastroenterology fellowship at the Long Island College Hospital, Brooklyn, NY.

    Dr. Peddanna has been practicing in Dayton, OH since 1998 with special interest in GI. He is a member of several GI societies including the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA), Montgomery County Medical Society (MCMS), American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).

    Dr. Peddanna is Board Certified in Gastroenterology.

    Dr. Jit received his medical degree from G.G.S Medical College in India in 1989.  After completing his Internal Medicine residency at Wright State University, he did a Gastroenterology fellowship at Wright State University in Dayton, OH.

    Dr. Jit has been practicing in Kettering, OH since 1999 with special interest in Gastroenterology. He is a member of several GI societies including the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, Ohio State Medical Association and Montgomery County Medical Society.

    Dr. Jit is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He is currently the managing partner of Digestive Specialists, Inc.

    Dr. Verma received his medical degree from Rohtak Government Medical College in Rohtak, Haryana India in 1980. After completing his Internal Medicine residency at Internal Medicine Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN he did a Gastroenterology fellowship at the Gastroenterology/Hepatology Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH.

    Dr. Verma has been practicing in Kettering, OH since 2000 with special interest in Gastroenterology. He is a member of several GI societies including the American Medical Association (AMA), Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA), American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) and American College of Gastroenterology (ACG).

    Dr. Verma is Board Certified in Internal Medicine for Gastroenterology.

    Dr. Dey received his medical degree from Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research in Calcutta, India 1988. After completing his Internal Medicine residency at East Tennessee State University he did a Gastroenterology fellowship at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC.

    Dr. Dey has been practicing in Springboro, OH since 2000 with special interest in Gastroenterology. He is a member of several GI societies including the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).

    Dr. Dey is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

    Richard W. Houston, M.D.

    Dr Houston received his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1971. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the USAF Medical Center, Keesler AFB, Biloxi, Mississippi, and his Gastroenterology fellowship at Letterman Army Medical Center, San Francisco, California.

    Dr Houston joined Digestive Specialists Inc as a Hospitalist in 2004. He has both excellent education and experience in Gastroenterology, and has also held positions as Clinical Assistant Professor of Gastroenterology.

    Dr Houston is a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), the American Medical Association (AMA), the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA) and the Montgomery County Medical Society (MCMS).

    Dr Houston is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

    Jigna Thakore, M.D.

    Dr. Thakore received her medical degree from Medical University of Lublin in Lublin, Poland in 2001. After completing her Internal Medicine residency at Wright State University Dayton, she continued at Wright State University to do a Gastroenterology fellowship.

    Dr. Thakore has been practicing gastroenterology in Huber Heights, OH since 2007 with a special interest in women’s GI issues. She is a member of several GI societies including the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).

    Dr. Thakore is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

    Dr. Akram received her medical degree from Rawalpindi Medical College, University of Punjab, in Rawalpindi, Pakistan in 1991. After completing her Internal Medicine residency at Harbor Hospital Center in Baltimore, Maryland, she did a Gastroenterology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

    Dr. Akram has been practicing in Dayton, OH since 2008 with special interest in GI. She is a member of several GI societies including the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), and American College of Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine (ACP-ASIM).

    Dr. Akram is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

  • Nagaraja Oruganti, M.D.

    Nagaraja Oruganti, M.D.

    Dr. Oruganti received his medical degree from Gandhi Medical College, Osmania University Hyderabad in Hyderabad, India in 1982. He did his post-graduate training in Internal Medicine, followed by Gastroenterology (1985-1990), at Osmania Medical College, Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. He worked as attending staff and Assistant Professor of Gastroenterology from 1992-1994. He subsequently completed an Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. His special areas of interest include inflammatory bowel disease, colon cancer screening and liver disease. He presently practices in Huber Heights, Beavercreek and Kettering endoscopy locations.

    Dr. Oruganti is a member of several GI societies, including the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) , American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) , Montgomery County Medical Society (MCMS), Greene County Medical Society (GCMS), and the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA).

    Dr. Oruganti is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

    Dr. Gaylor received his medical degree from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV 1978.  After completing his Internal Medicine residency at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, he finished his Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville in Kentucky.

    Dr. Gaylor has been practicing in Ohio since 1983 with special interest in GI. He is a member of several GI societies including the Ohio State Medical Association and Montgomery County Medical Association.

    Dr. Gaylor is Board Certified in Gastroenterology.

    Urmee Siraj, M.D.

    Urmee Siraj, M.D. joined Digestive Specialists, Inc. in July of 2012, after practicing Gastroenterology for two years with Digestive Specialty Care Inc., of Troy, Ohio.

    Dr. Siraj received her medical degree from Dhaka Medical College, Bangladesh. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency and her Gastroenterology Fellowship at the Wright State University School of Medicine.

    Dr. Siraj is highly trained and experienced in all Gastroenterology procedures. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

  • Kanan Sharma, M.D.

    Kanan Sharma, M.D.

    Dr. Sharma received her medical degree from Burdwan Medical College, West Bengal, India. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency, Chief Residency, and Gastroenterology Fellowship at the Wright State University School of Medicine.

    Dr. Sharma is highly trained and experienced in all Gastroenterology procedures, including advanced procedures, such as ERCP and stent and feeding tube placements.

    Dr. Sharma is a member of the American Medical Association, the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA), the Montgomery County Medical Society (MCMS), the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and the American College of Physicians (ACP).

    Dr. Sharma is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

    Dr. Barde received his medical degree in 1976, and completed his Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship, at the State University of New York at Buffalo Medical School.

    Dr. Barde joined Digestive Specialists Inc in 2005 as a Hospitalist. He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), the American Medical Association (AMA), the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA) and the Montgomery County Medical Society (MCMS). From 2000 to the present, Dr. Barde has also been the Gastroenterology Fellowship Director for the Wright State University School of Medicine.

    Dr. Barde is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

    Lyndsey Ritze, PA-C

    Lyndsey Ritze, PA-C, MPAS, earned her Bachelor of Science from Ohio University in 2007 and Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Kettering College of Medical Arts in 2010.

    Lyndsey has previous Physician Assistant experience, and has also worked as a Teaching Assistant at Ohio University. She joined Digestive Specialists, Inc. in mid-2011. She works exclusively at the hospitals, assisting the Digestive Specialists, Inc Hospitalists.

    Lyndsey was certified by the NCCPA (National Commission of Certification of Physicians Assistants) in 2010.

    Amanda Simpson, PA-C

    Amanda has been a licensed Physician’s Assistant since 2004 and has been practicing in Dayton for 6 years. She obtained her physician’s assistant certification at Kettering College Medical Arts before completing her MS at the University of Nebraska.

    Cassandra is a certified Physician Assistant who graduated from Kettering College of Medical Arts. She has been practicing Hepatology at Digestive Specialists since 2004.
