SYSK: UD senior working to end human trafficking through fair trade
DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – There are many lessons we learn in college, but for one University of Dayton student, those lessons are extending far beyond the Miami Valley.
Bradley Petrella is working to end human trafficking through fair trade.
“A fair trade campaign on campus is just a way to show official support and help educate people,” the UD senior said, “build awareness.”
Petrella has helped lead discussions both on campus and off, promoting a path away from exploiting human labor, and even taking that message nationally.
“The idea that, if we work together, this younger generation, we have a whole life ahead of us to make an impact on this problem and hopefully end slavery,” he said during a CNN interview.
The Hilliard, Ohio, native is also active on campus, helping bring fair trade products into places like the bookstore.
That’s why Bradley Petrella is someone you should know.
