2017 Solar Eclipse finally sweeps across the country


(WKEF/WRGT) - We've been counting down to this day for months, and it's finally here!

The Great American Eclipse starts in just a few hours, here in the Miami Valley we'll the eclipse at about 90 percent.

With so much excitement about the eclipse, people have been scrambling to buy eclipse glasses. While most places are sold out, there is a chance for you to get a pair at FOX 45's watch party at the Fraze Pavilion. We are teaming up with iHeart Radio and handing out 1,800 pair of certified eclipse glasses on a first-come first-serve basis. The event is from noon until 4:00 p.m. today, it's free to get in and there will also be some free food provided by Graeters and Esther Price. While you're at the party, local DJs from iHeart radio will be playing a variety of sun and moon themed music.

The event starts at noon and runs until 4:00 p.m., the first person in line showed up this morning at 6:00. As of around 11:30, the line for glasses stretched outside the Fraze.
