Woman files lawsuit against Mont. Co. Jail claiming excessive force was used against her
UPDATE: Attorney Doug Brannon said this case was settled with the county.
He said the settlement amount was confidential, but that the two parties did reach the agreement amicably.
DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – A lawsuit filed against the Montgomery County Jail alleges excessive force was used against a woman while she was in jail in 2015.
Marsha Pate-Strickland said she got into a confrontation with a corrections officer after asking if she could exchange her juice for a milk.
She said the officer grabbed her and slammed her to the floor. Pate-Strickland said she complained that her arm and shoulder were injured, but she refused medical attention.
Now, she said she has permanent and debilitating injuries.
