Victim in deadly Trotwood shooting identified
UPDATE -- The Montgomery County Coroner has identified a man who was shot and killed Monday night in Trotwood. The victim is Jerron J. McDowell, 23, of Trotwood.
According to the coroner, the cause of death is a perforating gunshot wound to the abdomen. The manner of McDowell's death is considered to be homicide.
UPDATE -- A witness says it sounded like "war" as shots rang out Monday night at a gas station in Trotwood.
It happened at the Sunoco Pippin's Market in the 5400 block of Olive Road Monday night, September 19. Police say a man was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital after being shot multiple times, he later died at the hospital. Officers found several shell casings at the scene where a number of people were apparently involved in a shootout. Police believe there could be more victims and told local hospitals to be on alert.
At this time there is no suspect description being released from Trotwood Police, and the victim's name is not being released either.

TROTWOOD, Ohio (WRGT) -- Police are investigating a shooting involving what witnesses say was what sounded like automatic gunfire at a gas station.
One witness says they heard 15-20 shots fired, while another person says there could be as many as 50 shots. Both say it sounded like automatic gunfire at the Pippins Market Sunoco on Olive Road.
FOX 45's Reporter Lisa Smith says two cars fled the gas station after the shooting, toward Shiloh Springs Road. Two cars also remained at the gas station, with numerous evidence markers littering the ground. Clothes also laid upon the ground.
There's no word yet on whether there were any injuries.
