Miamisburg High School takes time to honor veterans at baseball game
MIAMISBURG, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – A local baseball team took the time to honor our nation’s veterans April 15.
Miamisburg High School took on Middletown, but before the game started, they held a special ceremony to honor United States heroes.
There was a 21-gun salute and a special singing of the national anthem to kick off the third year for the event, and one veteran told us the appreciation is much appreciated.
“I think it’s good that everybody understands what a lot of us went through,” Vietnam veteran Lewis Huddleson said, “especially ones like myself that was drafted but we didn’t ask to be in the service, yet we did what we have to do.”
The event was sponsored by the Wounded Warrior Project, and all the money raised from the sale of t-shirts at the game goes right back to charity.
