CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Two men accused of killing a pre-med student in Bond Hill in April 2016 accepted plea deals Monday.

Twenty-one-year-old John Sanders and 20-year-old Robert Carpenter were charged with aggravated murder, felonious assault and tampering with evidence, in addition to the original murder charge, after the shooting death of 19-year-old Parris Hummons in 2016.

Hummons was sitting in a car in a parking lot on Reading Road with a friend when they were both shot. Hummons, a student at Wright State University, died. Police said she was not the intended target.

Both Sanders and Carpenter pleaded guilty as part of the agreement. The judge sentenced Carpenter to 28 years to life in prison. Sanders is facing 20 years to life in prison.
