Octobeards: Dayton Police participating in "No Shave October"
DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Dayton Police are changing it up for October and letting their facial hair grow out, and it's all for a good cause.
If officers make a $50 donation to the Pink Ribbon Girls, they can grow out a beard for the rest of October, which is breast cancer awareness month.
The Pink Ribbon Girls is a certified non-profit that helps women across Ohio while they're fighting breast cancer by providing meals, cleaning services and rides to appointments.
Dayton Police did say the beards must be neatly kept, and that the "Octobeard" can only stay through the end of the month.
