Springfield residents to see changes kick in after levy passed
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – Springfield residents will soon be able to see the changes from a levy they passed during the May 2 election.
City manager Jim Bodenmiller said they are hoping to have the Springfield Police Department substation and Fire Station 5, which were both temporarily shut down in January 2017, reopened by July 1.
They have reportedly already re-hired some firefighters, but will need more, and will need to bring on more police officers as well.
